RICAORA is a free and independent personal project that estimates electric-vehicle charging, manages a local Garage and displays charging stations. This notice describes the processing carried out by the service.

Controller and contact

Data stored on the device

Garage data, battery percentages, preferences, estimates and optional history are stored locally in the browser and are not synchronised with a RICAORA account. Export, import and deletion are controlled by the user.

Cookies and local storage

RICAORA does not use advertising cookies or profiling tools. Browser local storage is used to provide requested functions and remember preferences, Garage data and map consent. These data can be deleted from the Maintenance section or through browser settings.

Map and location

The map is loaded only after an explicit user choice. If authorised by the browser, location is used to centre the map and find nearby charging stations. Search coordinates and necessary technical data pass through RICAORA infrastructure to Open Charge Map; map tiles are provided by OpenStreetMap. Map consent can be withdrawn through “Disable and forget consent”. RICAORA does not guarantee the availability or accuracy of charging-station data.

Feedback and reports

When you voluntarily send feedback or report a charging station, the message, interface language and any technical station references are transmitted through RICAORA infrastructure to the Resend email service for delivery to the operator. Do not include sensitive data. Messages are retained for the time needed to handle the request and in any event for no longer than 12 months, unless longer retention is required by law or to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

Technical data and logs

Cloudflare may process IP addresses, user agents and technical logs to deliver, protect and diagnose the service. Logs are retained according to applicable provider settings and terms and, where controlled by the operator, only for the time needed for security and diagnostics.

Purposes, legal bases and optional provision

Requested functions are provided on the basis of performing the service; geolocation and map loading depend on consent or a user action; feedback and reports are processed to respond to the request; security and technical logs rely on the legitimate interest in protecting the service. Providing data is optional, but without the necessary data some functions, such as the map or feedback, cannot be used.

Recipients and international transfers

The expected providers are Cloudflare, Open Charge Map, OpenStreetMap and Resend, according to their respective roles and terms. Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; where applicable, transfers rely on adequacy decisions, the Data Privacy Framework or other safeguards under the GDPR, including Standard Contractual Clauses. Information about applicable safeguards may be requested at the privacy email address.

Your rights

You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability or object to processing by writing to the privacy address. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. You may also lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority. Local data can be deleted directly from the Maintenance section.

Automated decisions

RICAORA does not carry out profiling or make automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects. Charging estimates are informational calculations requested by the user.

Children and changes

The service is not specifically designed for children. Material changes will be indicated by updating this page and its date.
